While we couldn't teach the game of golf without our instructors, we couldn't run the golf camp or junior clinics without our parent volunteers.  These parents play a key role by running registration, act as a liaison between our organization and Sandals Resort, assist the instructors when needed, assist with food and beverages and anything else asked of them.

Our board

Our FREE summer golf camp is held for 2 days at Sandals Resort Great Exuma.  All children receive instruction from our volunteer instructors. On the last day of camp, each child receives a bag filled with school supplies to get them started for the year ahead.  They are also given lunch and beverages while attending. During the year, on two saturdays a month, our volunteer instructions give their time to run our junior golf clinics, so that the learning never stops.  We could not have made such a difference if it were not for these consistant and giving volunteers!

Please CONTACT US if you would like to Volunteer in any capacity.

We greatly appreciate it!

why we do it!

The Nelson A. Ranger Scholarship Fund & Golf Camps was founded in 2008 by myself and my wife LaTysha to support college and Trade School bound Exumian students.

As a recipient of a Lyford Cay Scholarship many years ago, I know the Blessing it is to receive a helping hand to further one's education.  Awarding financial assistance to students no matter how small the amount, can make a big difference.  Be it allowing students to pay tuition, purchase books, or have monies for basic needs like room and board.  We want to be able to raise more in order to give more.

Our Junior Golf Program and Camps allow us to expose our youth to a sport that many around the world do not readily have access to.  Our first camp had its humble beginnings with a handful of students and instructors on Regatta Park in George Town, Exuma in 2009.  In 2010 we received sponsorship from Sandals Resort Emerald Bay and have been granted access to their golf facility to hold our camps and clinics ever since.  This has allowed us to serve more students every year.

As a former Golf Professional, I am appreciative of the discipline, social skills, and professionalism I have acquired over the years.  Playing golf allowed me access to people and places I may not have had access to otherwise.  I am honored to be able to introduce this wonderful game to as many children as possible.

If you would like more information about becoming a Sponsor, Volunteer, or signing up your child for camp, please CONTACT US!
